The Turkish company Atlas Global Energy plans to build a wind power plant with a total capacity of 60 MW on the territory of Slavska and Kozivska communities in the Lviv region of Ukraine. The company plans to invest around 72 million euros in the construction of wind generators and ancillary infrastructure. The wind farm is planned to be commissioned in August next year.

During a meeting with regional management on Wednesday, January 27, Svyatoslav Zhmutsky, a representative of Atlas Global Energy LLC in Ukraine, said that the project includes the construction of the wind farm with 16 wind turbines, connection of the wind farm to the grid (35 and 110 kV), and also reconstruction of the access road from the village of Tukholka. The wind power plant will be connected to the Lavochne-T substation, which is owned by JSC Ukrzaliznytsia.

“This year we plan to reconstruct the access road, its length is approximately 6 km, lay trenches and cables from our substation to the Lavochne-T substation, foundations for turbines, start tender procedures for the reconstruction of the substation. Next year we plan to install wind turbines, complete the reconstruction of the substation and obtain permits for commissioning", said Sviatoslav Zhmutsky.

Zhmutsky clarified that the amount of investment in  purely a wind farm (without auxiliary infrastructure) will be more than 40 million euros, as well as separate funds will be invested in road construction and more. The wind farm will be located on the territory of Slavska and neighboring Kozivska communities - near the villages of Verkhnyachka, Zhupany, Lavochne and will cover an area of about 16 hectares. Work is scheduled to begin in April-May this year.

Regional authorities promised to support the project at all stages of construction of the wind farm. A memorandum on the construction of the wind farm in authorities was signed in 2016.

Atlas Global Energy has been operating in the renewable energy sector for more than 15 years. Eight wind farms have been built in Turkey, three hydropower plants in Georgia and Turkey. The total capacity of wind power plants is 400 MW, hydroelectric power plants - 160 MW. Number of consumers - about 2 million people.

Today in the Lviv region there are two wind power plants "Staryi Sambir 1" and "Staryi Sambir 2" with a total capacity of 33.9 MW.
